On November 3, 2019, Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino, was rushed to the hospital after a sudden illness.
According to his Facebook post, Owino was undergoing a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan, indicating that he was not feeling well.
"May God heal me coz I must lead this nation some day," Owino wrote in the Facebook post, expressing his determination to recover and continue serving the nation.
Although the exact nature of his illness remains unclear, Owino's absence from the ongoing Kibra by-election campaigns sparked concerns among his followers on social media.
Kenyan netizens quickly sent Owino their well-wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery.
