With the Kibra by-election just around the corner, parties are making their final push to win over voters. Today, November 1, 2019, marks the end of campaigns, and the top candidates are out to show their political might and strength on the ground.
ODM Party will be at Woodley Stadium grounds to pitch for their candidate Imran Okoth, a rally that is expected to bring all ODM Governors, and other elected leaders from the Orange Party as well as new allies including Governors Charity Ngilu, Kivutha Kibwana, and Alfred Mutua.
On the other hand, DP William Ruto will lead the Jubilee brigade at Joseph Kangethe Grounds and is also expected to assemble his best team of top politicians for the rally.
Yesterday's meeting between Raila and the two governors from Ukambani signalled the beginning of a possible formation of new alliances. In the by-election, Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper is supporting a Ford Kenya candidate.
As a youthful leader who will go for the presidency in 2022, I ask for your support,” said Dr Mutua. Raila said he had been in good books with the Kamba community since 1992.
Candidates in the November 7 mini-poll, that follows the death of MP Ken Okoth, include Bernard Imran Okoth (ODM), Eliud Owalo (Amani National Congress), and Khamisi Butichi (Ford Kenya).
Dr Ruto, however, focused on Mr Odinga, saying, “It is not well in Raila’s camp and that is why they complain about almost everything.
That is a sign of a defeated person. God willing and going by the development programmes the Jubilee government has initiated in Kibra, we shall win by a landslide.”
