On November 2, 2019, Mesut Ozil announced his return to form in the Premier League, making his second domestic start of the season against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
After a Carabao Cup defeat by Liverpool, Ozil impressed in Arsenal's 1-1 draw with Wolves, offering the team more creativity in the middle of the park.
Emery opted to include Ozil in the starting XI, following his impressive performance against Liverpool.
On Twitter, Ozil wrote, "Good to be back in Premier League action, but not happy about the result at home." He added, "Many things to work on. We have to keep moving forward with our heads held high."
Emery announced on Friday that Ozil would line up against Wolves, ruling out Granit Xhaka due to his clash with fans during the previous match.
"He is training normally, but like every human he feels emotions. Xhaka's issues last week need time to recover the normality with him and with us," said Emery.
"Xhaka has said sorry, he gave apologies to the supporters, to everybody," Emery added.
