On November 2, 2019, Manchester City staged a remarkable comeback to beat Southampton 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

Turning Point

City's strong start was undone in the 12th minute when James Ward-Prowse capitalized on a fumble by Ederson from Stuart Armstrong's shot to score on the follow-up and give Southampton the lead.

Equalizer

At halftime, Pep Guardiola had some harsh words for his team, which seemed to motivate them, as they waited till the 70th minute to equalize. Sergio Aguero stuck out a foot and converted a Kyle Walker cross to level the score for Manchester City.

Winner

City completed the turnaround with four minutes left on the clock when Alex McCarthy missed a cross from the right, and Kyle Walker was on hand to capitalize, sliding the ball in from a cross as he celebrated with the City fans.

Next Matches

City next travel to face Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League on November 6, while Southampton will look to pick themselves up on November 9 against Everton.
