On November 2, 2019, Manchester City staged a remarkable comeback to beat Southampton 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Turning Point ¶
City's strong start was undone in the 12th minute when James Ward-Prowse capitalized on a fumble by Ederson from Stuart Armstrong's shot to score on the follow-up and give Southampton the lead.
Equalizer ¶
At halftime, Pep Guardiola had some harsh words for his team, which seemed to motivate them, as they waited till the 70th minute to equalize. Sergio Aguero stuck out a foot and converted a Kyle Walker cross to level the score for Manchester City.
Winner ¶
City completed the turnaround with four minutes left on the clock when Alex McCarthy missed a cross from the right, and Kyle Walker was on hand to capitalize, sliding the ball in from a cross as he celebrated with the City fans.
