Published on November 2, 2019, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has expressed his disappointment and that of his constituents over the government's alleged sidelining of the Kikuyu community in major state appointments and resource distribution.
According to Kuria, the Kikuyu community felt neglected and abandoned despite voting overwhelmingly for the Jubilee party in the last elections.
'The way we are being left out can make anyone angry, I weep for my people,' Kuria had said.
He criticized the government for choosing to neglect the Kikuyus in ensuring that they received an equal share of national resources, saying his constituents had received an insult in the form of resources.
Kuria also accused President Uhuru of taking a lackluster opinion at ensuring that his own people received what he promised them, calling on him to reach out to his people before he quit office.
He urged the government to come in and help serve the Kikuyus who have felt abandoned and neglected, citing the need for government appointments and recognition, as well as the development of primary and secondary school learning facilities, social amenities in major towns, and addressing the acute level of unemployment in the region.
