Deputy President William Ruto has expressed confidence in McDonald Mariga's chances of winning the Kibra by-election, scheduled for November 7.

Speaking at a fundraising event in Nakuru County on Saturday, Dr. Ruto said the opposition is panicking due to Mariga's looming victory.

"It is not well in Raila's camp and that is why they complain about almost everything," Dr. Ruto said, referring to ODM leader Raila Odinga.

He added that the Jubilee government's development programs in Kibra will ensure a landslide victory for Mariga.

"God willing and going by the development programmes the Jubilee government has initiated in Kibra, we shall win by a landslide," Dr. Ruto said.

Dr. Ruto also criticized Raila Odinga's track record as an MP for Kibra, saying he failed to deliver development projects during his 20-year tenure.

"The truth of the matter is that Raila never developed and empowered the people of Kibra when he was an MP. The projects he failed to deliver in all those years have been done by Jubilee in these few years," Dr. Ruto said.

He further hinted at new alliances, saying the Jubilee Party is about to pull a surprise on the opposition.

"They have all ganged to fight a Jubilee candidate but the message is clear; we shall beat them hands down. The Kibra seat is going to Jubilee," Dr. Ruto said.
