Kenyan Policeman Killed by Colleagues After Shooting His Father ¶
On November 2, 2019, a police officer in West Pokot County, Kenya, was shot and killed by his colleagues after he fatally shot his father.
The officer, identified as Kelvin Otovolia Mang'ong'o, had arrived at the Chepkono police station to visit his son, who was a police officer there.
However, Mang'ong'o began arguing with his colleagues and was shot and killed by them after he tried to shoot one of them.
According to reports, Mang'ong'o had traveled from his home in Kakamega to visit his son in the Pokot South constituency.
The motive behind Mang'ong'o's actions is still unclear.
Another incident of a police officer being killed by his colleagues occurred in Riruta, Nairobi, where an inspector was shot and killed by his colleagues in 2018.
