On November 2, 2019, a police helicopter crash-landed at Wilson Airport in Nairobi, marking the latest incident at the facility.

The helicopter, registration 5Y-SFA (Mil Mi-17 Hip), developed mechanical issues while preparing to land, forcing it to touch down a few meters from the runway.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident, which involved two people on board - a chief inspector and an inspector attached to the Kenya Police Airwing.

The plane was reportedly repaired and cleared for take-off after the Saturday afternoon incident, but the incident raises concerns about the safety of local flights.
