Published on November 2, 2019, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa has continued to clash with her party leader Raila Odinga. The Malindi legislator has accused some Coastal region leaders of pushing for her arrest and has blasted ODM leader Raila Odinga, stating that he was not a representative of the Coast people, especially the Mijikenda.

She emphasized that Raila Odinga has never been a spokesman for the Mijikenda and will never be. Jumwa urged her supporters to stand firm, saying it's not about getting a smooth ride, but about doing what's right for their people.

During the burial of the late uncle to Ganda Ward MCA, Raila Odinga faulted Jumwa's actions, stating that murder suspects should not be released on bail. Odinga also criticized Jumwa for thumping her chest after being released on bail instead of showing remorse for her actions.

“Those who commit murder should be taken to court, have their case heard, and then released on bail. This shows that the judiciary is compromised and needs to be investigated,” Odinga said.

It's worth noting that Jumwa was released on a Sh1 million bond, alongside her bodyguard Geoffrey Otieno, just two weeks ago. They were accused of taking part in the killing of the uncle to ODM Ganda Ward MCA Reuben Katana.
