On October 24, a violent altercation erupted between two colleagues at Spa Drill Company Limited in Ruaraka, Nairobi. The incident, which left one woman injured, has now landed the alleged perpetrator in court.

Sharon Osili, a casual labourer at the company, was charged before a Makadara court with assaulting her colleague, Sylvia Nafula Wangila, and occasioning her bodily harm. The 20-year-old is also accused of causing malicious damage to property after smashing Wangila's mobile phone valued at Sh7,000.

According to the charges, Osili had called Wangila to an isolated area within the company's premises to discuss her relationship with their male colleague. However, the conversation quickly turned sour, with Osili accusing Wangila of snatching her man and assaulting her in the process.

Osili allegedly slapped Wangila several times before picking a metal bar and hitting her on the arms as she put up a defence. The incident occurred on October 24, and Wangila was left injured.

Osili denied the charges before principal magistrate Merisa Opondo and was released on a cash bail of Sh20,000. The hearing of the case is set to start on March 11 next year.
