Published on November 2, 2019, England players are set to pocket £2.5 million between them if they win the Rugby World Cup.

The Red Rose take on South Africa in the showpiece event, seeking to avenge their 2007 loss at the same stage to the same opposition.

As part of a laddering system, England earns more money for each knockout round they progress, with the prize money coming on top of the £1.2 million payout for beating New Zealand in the semi-finals.

England players have already taken home £66,077 for their exploits in the knockout stages alone, with a payment of £13,656 per player for the group games.

With a fee of £325,000 paid out to the winning nation from the World Cup itself, England's total payout could reach approximately £7 million, or £225,000 per player, if they win the tournament.
