Kenya Film Classification Board CEO Ezekiel Mutua has sparked controversy with his latest move against Ethic Entertainment. On November 1, 2019, Mutua announced that he had sought the intervention of Google and the Directorate of Criminal Investigation to take down the song Tarimbo.

According to Mutua, the song advocates for the rape of women, which he claims is a criminal act. He further stated that promoting violence against women goes beyond the limits of freedom of expression, as outlined in Article 33.

Mutua's move comes after he previously banned the song Wamlambez by Sailor's Gang, which he claimed was indecent. In a previous statement, Mutua had defended his decision to ban the song, saying that it was not suitable for public consumption.

However, his latest move against Ethic Entertainment has sparked a heated debate, with many questioning his motives and the impact of his actions on the music industry.
