With the season entering its final stretch, Kayole Starlets are on the cusp of securing their spot in the Women's Premier League next season. A win against Wadadia at the Mumias Sports Complex on Sunday would all but confirm their place in the top tier.
Currently sitting in 13th position with 14 points from 26 matches, Kayole Starlets have a slim chance of relegation. However, a loss against Wadadia would put them in a precarious position, and they would need to win their final match against Thika Queens to secure their place.
Wadadia assistant coach Godfrey Magongo acknowledged that Kayole Starlets would come out strong, but expressed confidence in his team's ability to give them a tough welcome.
"I know Kayole Starlets will give us a good game but we are also in good shape and are psyched up for a win," Magongo said.
Meanwhile, Mathare United will be looking to secure their seventh win of the season when they face Kibera Girls Soccer Academy at Camp Toyoyo. Mathare coach Anne Aluoch expressed her team's determination to move up the table and respect their opponents, but not fear them.
"We have trained well. We want to win this match so that we can move up the table further. We definitely respect Kibera but do not fear them," Aluoch said.
On the other end of the table, champions Vihiga Queens are on the verge of retaining the title, with 73 points from 26 outings and a massive goal difference of +84.
