On November 1, 2019, a shocking confession was made in court by a General Service Unit (GSU) officer, Anthony Kilonzo, who admitted to killing a woman and her daughter in Katani, Machakos County, last weekend.

According to Kilonzo, he was approached by a friend, whom he did not identify, to carry out the hit job.

"I confessed that I was called by a friend to do the job of killing the woman," Kilonzo said in court.

However, the judge, Milimani Senior Resident Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe, cut him short and asked him to consider the implications of his confession, emphasizing the need for legal representation.

Nzibe subsequently ordered Kilonzo to be held at Kilimani Police Station for 21 days to undergo a mental assessment and allow police to conclude their investigation into the twin murders.

Kilonzo, attached to GSU Embakasi B campus Garrison section, will return to court on November 21, 2019.
