On November 1, 2019, DStv announced a change of heart regarding its decision to cut popular channels from its premium bouquets.

Pay television firm DStv had earlier announced that it would cut Lifetime and History channels from its premium bouquets, effective November 2019, citing the end of its contractual agreement with partners.

However, following a new contractual agreement with A+E Networks Africa, DStv has decided to retain the channels, ensuring that its customers continue to enjoy their favorite programming.

While DStv customers will no longer lose access to Lifetime and History channels, they will, however, be cut off from Crime + Investigation starting today.

According to Yolisa Phahle, MultiChoice Group CEO for General Entertainment, the new agreement allows DStv to meet its commitment to providing the best programming for its customers, while also ensuring a value for money offering.

Dean Possenniskie, Managing Director A+E Networks EMEA, expressed his satisfaction with the long-term renewal of the flagship brands, History and Lifetime in Africa, and the new distribution of Lifetime in Compact, which presents an exciting opportunity to reach millions of new viewers.
