Published on November 1, 2019, a report by Weekly Citizen exposed the alleged underground moves of Martha Nyanuer, a powerful woman in South Sudan's government.

Martha Nyanuer, serving as an MP and chairperson of Gender and Equality operations, has been raising eyebrows with her actions in both Nairobi and South Sudan.

She is the second wife to Ezekiel Loi Gatkuoth, a former Minister of Petroleum who was sacked by President Salva Kiir due to corruption allegations worth millions of US dollars.

After his sacking, Gatkuoth was helped by Martha Nyanuer to flee to the US, where he is staying with the children of his late first wife.

However, our investigations reveal that Gatkuoth was actually granted permission by President Kiir to visit his children abroad, and not escape to the US as previously reported.

Martha Nyanuer has been using her influence among her tribe to lobby for her husband's reinstatement in the government and cabinet.

According to sources, she has brought on her side influential former Generals who are not comfortable with Kiir's style of leadership.

Using her fortunes, Martha Nyanuer has been hosting secret meetings in top-range Nairobi city hotels to blackmail President Kiir into reinstating her husband.

She is also accused of engaging in sexual escapades with powerful politicians and businessmen in Kenya.

Our investigations also reveal that Martha Nyanuer is a spendthrift who frequently visits high-end establishments in Nairobi and hosts high-profile people for political mobilization, where she bribes them to lobby for her husband's reappointment to cabinet.
