Naibu Rais William Ruto's wife, Mama Racheal Ruto, has thrown her weight behind McDonald Mariga, the Jubilee Party candidate vying for the Kibra parliamentary seat in the upcoming by-election.
Mariga's popularity has been boosted by the endorsement, with several supporters, including Mama Racheal, attending his campaign rallies.
"We met with McDonald Mariga on October 30, during our daily prayers, and we joined him in his prayers and wished him well as he campaigns for the Kibra parliamentary seat," Mama Racheal tweeted.
Mariga's chances of winning the seat have been boosted by the endorsement from the Deputy President's wife, who is known for her strong political influence.
Naibu Rais William Ruto has been a strong supporter of Mariga, attending several campaign rallies in his Karen home.
