On October 31st, 2019, a shocking case of murder came to light in Machakos County, where a police officer was accused of hiring a friend to kill a woman and her daughter.
General Service Unit (GSU) officer Anthony Kilonzo appeared before the court, claiming that he was approached by a friend to carry out the heinous act.
"I recorded statements when I was at the hospital and yesterday when I was arrested …I confessed that I was called by a friend to do the job of killing the lady," Kilonzo said in court.
The prosecution sought to detain Kilonzo for 21 days to allow police to complete their investigations into the killing of the two women.
However, the court directed that the suspect be detained until November 21st and also be taken for mental assessment.
