On October 31, 2019, the Kenya Rugby Union offices in Ngong Road were the scene of an embarrassing raid by auctioneers.
According to reports, the auctioneers left with expensive equipment and other valuables, including the Safari Sevens trophy.
The Kenya Rugby Union reportedly owes a tours and travel agent, Emi Travel, up to KSh 4 million for air tickets booked and processed as far back as 2015.
Although the Union initially paid back KSh 1 million, no further installments were made, leading to the auctioneers' action.
Photos taken during the incident show men loading precious items onto a lorry as onlookers watched in disbelief.
The incident comes days after the Football Kenya Federation briefly suspended the Harambee Starlets camp on financial grounds.
