Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti has made a remarkable recovery from a life-threatening condition that left him on the verge of losing his sight.

Speaking at his office after a several-month absence, Governor Awiti expressed gratitude to God and the people of Homa Bay for their prayers, which helped him overcome the challenge.

“I was on the verge of losing my sight some time back. It was a very painful situation. I thank God and the people of Homa Bay for their prayers, which delivered me from the problem,” Awiti said.

During his recovery, Governor Awiti was forced to take complete bed rest, a recommendation from his doctors after he temporarily lost his sight.

Upon his return to office, Governor Awiti presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the County Executive Committee Member for Transport and Infrastructure Samuel Nyaoke.

He also toured various development projects in Homa Bay town, where he cautioned his executive members against engaging in gossip and leaking sensitive information.

“If you know you have been leaking secrets of this government for your personal benefit, your days are numbered. You can as well leave before we deal with you,” Governor Awiti warned.
