Manchester City, the reigning Carabao Cup champions, will face Oxford in the quarterfinals, while Manchester United will host Colchester at Old Trafford.
Colchester, the lowest-ranked side remaining in the competition, will face five-time winners Manchester United after reaching the last eight for only the second time in their history.
Meanwhile, Premier League leaders Liverpool, who won a penalty shootout against Arsenal on Wednesday, will travel to Villa Park with uncertainty over the scheduling of the fixture due to their upcoming Club World Cup match in Qatar on December 18.
The EFL is in discussions with Liverpool to identify an alternative date for the quarterfinal, which is scheduled to be played the week commencing December 16.
The quarterfinal draw has been announced, with the following matches set to take place:
- Oxford vs Manchester City
- Manchester United vs Colchester
- Aston Villa vs Liverpool
- Everton vs Leicester
