On Thursday, the Harambee Starlets reported back to camp, marking a significant step forward in their preparations for the upcoming 2020 Olympic qualifier against Zambia.
The team's return to camp comes after the government pledged its support ahead of the crucial fixture, which is slated for November 8 in Nairobi and November 11 in Zambia.
Earlier, the team's preparations were left in limbo after Football Kenya Federation (FKF) disbanded the Starlets' training camp due to financial constraints.
However, the government has moved swiftly to address the issue, with the National Sports Fund releasing 3.9 million shillings to support the team's efforts.
The funds are part of the 17 million shillings budget that FKF requested for Harambee Stars' CHAN 2020 home and away fixture against Tanzania.
With the government's support, the Harambee Starlets can now focus on their preparations for the Olympic qualifier, having already beaten Malawi and powerhouse Ghana in their quest to make their maiden appearance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
