On October 31, 2019, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party fraternity issued the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) with fresh demands ahead of the Kibra poll.
ODM party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna accused IEBC of deliberately refusing to release the official Kibra constituency voters register for verification.
According to Sifuna, the party has given the commission 24 hours to provide the register, failure to do so within the given time frame, they will match to IEBC offices to obtain the register.
The ODM Secretary-General also asked the commission to address the issues of missing names in the register, voters' transfer to a different polling station, and new names added to the register.
Elaborating further, the ODM party pointed out that a report released by Kibra community leaders on October 12 claimed that 19,200 voters' names were missing in the Kibra Constituency voters register, while 10,040 new names had been added to the register.
The report also alleged that 3,812 voters had been transferred to different polling stations without their consent.
