On October 31st, 2019, a shocking case unfolded in court as a police officer, Anthony Kilonzo, revealed he was hired to kill a woman and her daughter in Katani, Machakos County.
Appearing before the court, General Service Unit (GSU) officer Anthony Kilonzo claimed that he was approached by a friend, whom he did not name, to commit the heinous crime.
"I recorded statements when I was at the hospital and yesterday when I was arrested …I confessed that I was called by a friend to do the job of killing the lady," he said in court.
The prosecution sought to detain the suspect for 21 days to allow police to complete their investigations into the killing of the two women.
The husband of the deceased woman, who escaped with gunshot wounds, remains admitted at Shalom Hospital in a serious condition.
The court directed that the suspect be detained until November 21st and also be taken for mental assessment.
