On October 31, 2019, a GSU officer from the Katani area in Machakos County was arrested and charged with the murder of his mother and sister.
Anthony Kilonzo, the accused officer, told the court that he had been ordered to carry out the killings by a friend who had not revealed their identity.
"I wrote a report while I was in the hospital and yesterday, I was arrested after I thought about killing my mother and sister as instructed by my friend," Kilonzo said.
During the court proceedings, the judge was forced to adjourn the case due to concerns that the accused officer may not have fully understood the charges against him.
The accused officer has also been charged with attempting to kill his mother's husband by shooting him, but he failed and is currently hospitalized at Shalom Hospital.
The court has granted the accused officer bail, citing his experience and the possibility that he may complicate the evidence.
