On Wednesday, a pride of lions was spotted in Ongata Rongai, sparking widespread excitement and concern among Kenyans.

The lions were seen walking past the Africa Nazarene University in Tuala area, prompting a flurry of social media activity.

A Twitter user under the name @africanquuenmum shared photos of the lions, which caught the attention of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).

According to KWS, their team was notified about the sighting, and they advised the public to call their toll-free line (0800 597000) in the event of further sightings.

The lions were later spotted in the Karen C area of Nairobi, prompting warnings from media personality Julie Gichuru to be cautious.

However, some social media users expressed concern about the safety implications of the lions' presence in the area, with Ochanji Samuel warning that someone could get hurt if the lions were not contained.

Fortunately, Kenya Wildlife Service Strategic Communication Specialist Paul Udoto later confirmed that the lions had been guided back into the Nairobi National Park.

This incident comes three years after six lions escaped from the Nairobi National Park.
