On Wednesday, Sarah Wairimu Kamotho made an application to use her car, which is being held by police as an exhibit in her trial over the murder of her husband Tob Cohen.

Her lawyer, Philip Murgor, stated that she also needs to access her home in Kitisuru to retrieve her clothing, shoes, and other personal items.

Ms. Kamotho claimed that life has become expensive due to the restrictions, as she is forced to buy new clothes and hire taxis to move around.

However, the prosecution, led by Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Catherine Mwaniki, opposed the application, citing that the vehicle would be used as an exhibit during the trial.

Ms. Mwaniki stated that the prosecution will demonstrate that the car was used during the fateful night in which Cohen disappeared.

Justice Stella Mutuku directed Mr. Murgor to file a formal application, stating the items Ms. Kamotho would want to retrieve from her matrimonial home.

The judge emphasized that her previous ruling, which barred Ms. Kamotho from accessing the home without authorization and with investigators escorting her, remains in effect.
