Published on October 31, 2019, Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp has expressed his team's reluctance to participate in the League Cup quarter-finals if the fixture cannot be rescheduled to avoid clashing with the Club World Cup in December.

The competition's quarter-finals are set for the week commencing December 16, which coincides with the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar. Klopp's side is scheduled to travel to Qatar for the tournament.

"We will not be the victim of this problem," Klopp said. "If they don't find an appropriate place for us, we don't play it."

He also suggested that if the quarter-final tie cannot be moved, either their next opponent should advance or Arsenal could take Liverpool's place in the draw, which is to be held later on Thursday.
