Size 8 is expecting her third child next month, a miracle pregnancy after losing her second in December 2018.

During a surprise baby shower, the mother-to-be shared her gratitude, saying,

“Don’t take baby showers for granted,” adding, “For me, this pregnancy, getting here is a miracle.”

As she prepares for the arrival of her child, Size 8 may want to know what to expect in the delivery room. Here are 8 weird things she should anticipate:

  • Forget what you see on TV, hospital gowns are cute but may not stay closed as labour progresses.
  • Labour can cause digestion to stop, leading to vomiting.
  • The pressure of contractions can force air out, and you may pass gas, pee, or poop during labour.
  • Shivering and chills are common due to a small amount of foetal blood crossing into your bloodstream.
  • Labour can change your personality, leading to screaming, crying, and shouting.
  • Your baby will not be pretty when they're born, covered in white stuff.
  • During labour and birth, your body releases oxytocin, the “hormone of love”, which helps you bond with your newborn.
  • After giving birth, you'll need to birth the placenta, a process that can take up to 15 minutes.
