On October 31, 2019, a men's conference was held in Eldoret, sparking a heated debate on social media about whether men need mentorship on relationships and manhood.

Keynote speaker Mzee Jackson Kibor, 85, shared his insights on how men should treat their women, make money, and take care of their health.

Four men who attended the conference shared their experiences and takeaways, including Ian Kiplimo, who learned the art of self-reliance and entrepreneurship, and Shaban Kurgat, who made a resolve to quit alcohol and take care of his health.

Kevin Rutto, who initially doubted the conference's value, walked away with new insights on relationships and life, while Sammy Onyango, a finance officer, described the conference as an eye-opener and learned about his responsibility as a man to provide and unite his family.

The conference aimed to address the question posed by Rachel Giese in her book 'Boys: What it means to become a man': 'Feminism changed how women live and how girls are raised. But what about boys?'
