Kenyan musician Akothee has come out in support of Silverstone Air, an airline that has faced criticism following a series of flight incidents in October 2019.
On Monday, a Silverstone Air Dash 8-300 plane made an emergency landing at Eldoret International Airport after a wheel fell off during take-off from Lodwar.
The incident was one of three that occurred in October, prompting the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) to launch an audit of the airline.
However, Akothee, a popular brand influencer for the airline, has defended Silverstone Air, stating that the incidents are not unique to the airline and that they have made 10,000 safe landings in the past two years.
According to Akothee, the airline has a good safety record and that she personally flies with Silverstone Air and has never experienced any issues.
She also apologized to customers who may have been inconvenienced by the incidents and expressed her support for the airline, saying 'Silverstone Air Services for Life.'
Akothee's statement was made in response to the negative publicity surrounding the airline's recent incidents.
