On October 29, 2019, a court in Nyahururu County witnessed an unusual plea from a mother who asked the magistrate to jail her son.
Teresiah Wanjira, the mother, expressed her frustration with her son Paul Gitau's behavior, describing him as stubborn and irresponsible.
Ms. Wanjira had previously forgiven her son for several offenses, hoping he would change, but Gitau's behavior continued to worsen.
She testified in court, 'My son had been arrested for other offenses and I forgave him, he seems not to be ready to change any time soon, this has now become a trend which I cannot tolerate.'
Mr. Gitau had confessed to breaking into his mother's house, stealing Sh1000 and two chickens.
The court ruled that the case would be mentioned on November 6, 2019, to present additional evidence.
