On October 31, 2019, Sarah Wairimu's lawyer, Philip Murgor, appeared in court to request permission for his client to collect her personal belongings from her Kitisuru home.

Ms Wairimu, the widow of Dutch national Tob Cohen, has been living without her car, which is parked outside her house, and has been relying on lifts from relatives and friends.

Mr Murgor argued that his client needed the car and her personal belongings, including clothes, urgently, as she had spent a lot of money on new items.

However, Prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki opposed the request, stating that all items in the house are exhibits in the murder case and cannot be released until an analysis is done.

Justice Stella Mutuku declined to issue any orders and instead directed Wairimu to file a formal application, which will be heard on Tuesday next week.
