On March 9, 2019, Charles Odongo of Top Fry Nakuru RFC was in action against Western Bulls during the Enterprising Cup at Nakuru Athletics Cup.

However, the club is currently facing a difficult situation, with senior players boycotting training sessions due to lack of consistent cash flow. This has led to the resignation of club chairman Mwangi Mucemi, who stepped down on Monday.

Former head coach Mitch Ocholla left the club to join Impala Saracens, and Felix Oloo is now the team's acting head coach. The senior players have only trained for four days prior to their opening Kenya Cup League match against Menengai Oilers, which they lost 31-5.

Some of the senior players have turned up for the national Sevens team – The Shujaa and National 15s side, The Simbas.

According to a source from the club, the playing unit was not at its best in their opening league match against Oilers due to inadequate fitness among other factors. The absence of key players had eroded the confidence of youngsters, who could not match their opponents during the weekend match.

Club chairman Mwangi Mucemi confirmed his resignation in a letter to the club's patron Giles Woods, stating that it was a personal decision and that he had already handed over his resignation letter.

Meanwhile, Nakuru RFC acting coach Felix Oloo expressed confidence that the team would overcome their current challenges.
