On October 30, 2019, concerned residents of Rongai Estate in Kajiado spotted a pride of three grown lions on the outskirts of their neighborhood.

The lions were seen laying undisturbed in a bushy compound, prompting residents to tag Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) for assistance.

According to social media posts, KWS dispatched a team to recapture the stray lions, and residents were advised to call the KWS toll-free line in the event of further sightings.

Later that day, KWS confirmed that the stray lions had been recaptured and returned to the protection park.

Residents of Rongai can breathe a sigh of relief as the man-eaters are back under the care of KWS.
