The Harambee Starlets are set to resume their training camp on October 31, 2019, after receiving financial support from the Kenyan government.

According to the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), the team will face Zambia in a two-legged tie between November 8-14, 2019, in a bid to secure a spot in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

FKF CEO Barry Otieno confirmed that the government had provided the team with the necessary funds to facilitate their training camp.

"The government has advised the Starlets to report to camp on Thursday, October 31," Otieno said.

It is worth noting that the government had previously allocated KSh 3.8 million to the FKF for the men's national team, which is also preparing for the 2020 Africa Cup of Nations.

FKF President Nick Mwendwa had earlier criticized the federation's Secretary General, Kirimi Kaberia, for allegedly hindering the team's preparations for international tournaments.

The two teams will face off in a double-header, with the first match scheduled for November 8, 2019, at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, and the return leg set for November 12, 2019, in Lusaka, Zambia.
