On October 30, 2019, Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia signed a three-year partnership deal with Agro-Chemical and Food Company Limited, a company based in Muhoroni, Kisumu County.

The company, which produces Patriot Vodka, an alcoholic beverage, provided the cash-strapped Kenyan champions with Sh2 million to aid them ahead of their Caf Confederation Cup return leg tie against DC Motema Pembe in Kinshasa.

Speaking at the function, Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier criticized the government for its lack of support for football development in the country and urged corporate companies to invest in sports.

“We need support from fans, corporate and government so as to take football to greater heights in the country,” Rachier said.

The partnership between Gor Mahia and Agro-Chemical will see the club earn Sh5 for every bottle of Patriot Vodka sold.

Agro-Chemicals CEO Ashok Agrawal expressed excitement about the initiative and assured Gor Mahia that the company would not let them down.
