On October 30, 2019, Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino, took to his social media page to share a picture of Cosmas Mutua, a former student of Multi-Media University.
At the time, Cosmas was working as a security guard in Mombasa after dropping out of university three years ago due to lack of school fees.
Babu Owino's post read: 'If anyone knows the whereabouts of this comrade who dropped out from the university to be a watchman because of lack of fees to alert me. I want to help him complete his studies.'
It appears the message reached Cosmas, because days later Babu shared pictures of himself and Cosmas and promised to pay for his fees.
Today, thanks to Babu Owino's efforts, Cosmas is getting ready to go back to school in January 2020.
When asked about his gratitude, Cosmas said: 'I'm grateful for a second chance in life and am looking forward to going back to school in January. I thank Babu for believing in my dream.'
