Capital FM's Amina Abdi Rabar and Fareed Khimani, hosts of the popular Capital in the Morning radio show, are gearing up to host Africa's first Radio Marathon on October 30, 2019. The marathon is expected to last 28 hours, with the duo hoping to break the world record.

Currently, the world record stands at 60 hours, and if Amina and Fareed succeed, they will have clocked half of it. The marathon is scheduled to start at 6 am on October 30 and end on October 31, 2019.

Marathons are a popular way for media personalities to generate hype and build their profiles. Netflix and Nickelodeon have held marathons in the past to boost their image or that of their employees.

However, Amina and Fareed have been involved in some controversy in the past. In July 2019, they were involved in an on-air spat over Fareed's fat paycheque. The incident had the hallmarks of a staged scenario, and it remains unclear whether it was genuine or not.
