Published on October 30, 2019, John Cena has opened up about his epic feud with WWE legend The Rock, which remains one of the most iconic rivalries in wrestling history.
John Cena and The Rock headlined the biggest wrestling pay-per-view event, Wrestlemania 28, in 2012, which still holds the record for the biggest sell-out event in wrestling's pay-per-view history.
Although The Rock emerged victorious in their first match, Cena exacted revenge in their rematch in 2013, after months of intense trash talk.
Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Cena revealed that the two had a tendency to engage in verbal sparring matches outside of the ring, which only added to the tension before their showdowns.
However, despite their intense rivalry, Cena and The Rock have since become close friends, with Cena crediting their ability to put aside their differences and become 'besties' after their final match.
Both Cena and The Rock have gone on to achieve great success in Hollywood, with Cena starring in movies like Marines, Ferdinand, Bumblebee, and Trainwreck, while The Rock was the highest-paid actor of 2019, starring in blockbusters like Scorpion King, The Mummy Returns, Fast & Furious, and Jumanji.
