On October 30, 2019, Sarah Wairimu, the widow of late Dutch businessman Tob Cohen, appeared in court seeking the release of her car and personal belongings from their Sh400m marital home in Kitisuru.
Wairimu, who claimed she had no clothes, relied on relatives and friends for basic needs and found it expensive to move around without her car.
Her lawyer, Philip Murgor, urged the court to order the release of her belongings, citing her dire situation.
However, state counsel Catherine Mwaniki opposed the request, stating that the house was a crime scene and Wairimu could not be allowed in the house, while the vehicle was an exhibit used by the deceased.
Justice Stella Mutuku directed Murgor to file a formal application listing the items Wairimu needed, with the case set to be mentioned next Tuesday for a ruling on other issues raised by the parties.
