On October 24, 2019, a 12-year-old boy's life took a devastating turn when he was kidnapped and sodomised in Nakuru's Flamingo Estate.
Edward Kariuki, the alleged perpetrator, was charged at a Nakuru court on an unspecified date, with the offence of sodomy.
Senior Resident Magistrate Eunice Kelly presided over the case, with prosecutor Rita Rotich presenting the evidence against Kariuki.
According to Rotich, Kariuki had kidnapped the boy while he was on his way home at around 5pm and forced him into a saloon car, taking him to a house in Flamingo Estate where the heinous act was committed.
Defence Lawyer Geoffrey Otieno pleaded for lenient bond terms, and Kariuki was subsequently released on a Sh500,000 bond.
The case will be mentioned on November 5, 2019.
