On October 30, 2019, DT Dobie unveiled the latest Mercedes-Benz Actros prime mover in Kenya at the Nyali Golf and Country Club.
The event was attended by transporters who were impressed by the new model's features, including its improved performance and fuel efficiency.
According to Zarak Khan, Executive Chairman of DT Dobie, Mercedes-Benz trucks have been an integral part of the company's business for 70 years, with one of the first company-owned vehicles being a 1952 Mercedes-Benz truck that was used for 31 years to ferry spares from Mombasa to Nairobi.
DT Dobie has a long history of representing Mercedes-Benz trucks, which are known for their reliability and long life combined with value for money. The company has enhanced this status by providing quality servicing and repairs carried out by factory-trained technicians backed by a comprehensive stock of spares.
The company also operates a training centre in conjunction with Daimler, which serves both DT Dobie and Mercedes-Benz agents throughout the region.
Speaking at the launch, Zarak Khan noted that the Actros has been the best seller in the Kenya prime mover segment for six years and achieved over 52 per cent share in the first three quarters of 2019.
The latest Actros sets new benchmarks for performance and fuel efficiency, with fuel consumption reduced by up to four percent.

Mercedes-Benz has a reputation for pioneering new vehicle technology and manufacturing robust vehicles, with over 100 years of experience.
The new Actros has been subjected to more than 60 million test kilometres, including summer and winter trials at extreme temperatures, millions of kilometres on rough roads, and endurance testing.
