On Thursday, the National Assembly will hold its inaugural parliament forum for committees, marking a significant step in showcasing the committee system to the public.
As part of this initiative, the Thursday afternoon sittings of the house will be replaced by the forum, which will be held annually.
The forum will provide an opportunity for chairpersons of all committees to make presentations about the mandates of their respective committees, demystifying the role of committees to the public.
Additionally, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Justin Muturi, has announced that the forum will be used to launch the Committee Chairpersons' Manual, Committee Performance Reports, and the Kiswahili version of the Standing Orders.
The schedule of the forum includes the launch of the Committee Chairpersons' Manual, Committee Performance Reports, Live Broadcast of Committee Activities, and the Kiswahili Version of the National Assembly Standing Orders.
The forum will be graced by the Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania, Job Yustino Ndugai, as well as former Speakers of the National Assembly, Francis Ole Kaparo and Kenneth Marende.
