On Tuesday night, a dramatic scene unfolded in Wajir, Kenya, as Al shabaab militants launched a daring raid on the Dadajabula Police Station. The attack occurred at 8pm, when the militants attempted to rescue two suspected terrorists who had been arrested by police and were being held at the station, located just 13 kilometers from the Somalia border.

According to Wajir County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara, security officers had arrested the two suspects earlier in the day. However, the Al shabaab militants, who were believed to be on a mission to rescue the terror suspects, stormed the police station, sparking a fierce shootout with security officers.

The attack resulted in five people being injured, including two police officers, one Kenya Police Reservist, and a civilian. In the aftermath of the raid, the attackers shot dead the suspects they had gone to rescue, apparently out of fear that the suspects would disclose crucial information to security agencies.

With the situation now under control, Kibaara has appealed to members of the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the arrest of the suspects and their collaborators.
