Aircraft Skids Off Runway at Wilson Airport, Passengers and Crew Unhurt

On Tuesday evening, a Safarilink aircraft with 10 passengers on board skidded off the runway at Wilson Airport in Nairobi shortly after landing from Lamu.

According to the airline, the plane, registration number 5Y-SLJ, skidded off the runway at 6:20pm after a tyre burst.

Fortunately, all 10 passengers and 2 crew members escaped unhurt, and the aircraft was safely removed from the runway.

The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) inspected the scene of the incident.

This incident comes just a day after a Silverstone Air plane made an emergency landing at the Eldoret International Airport after losing one of its rear tyres during take-off.

On Sunday morning, another Silverstone aircraft collided with an East African Air plane at Wilson Airport, causing significant damage.

On August 16, 2019, a Safarilink plane under registration number 5Y-SLM was involved in an accident while landing at the Kichwa Tembo Airstrip in Maasai Mara, Narok County.
