On October 30, 2019, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen expressed his concerns about President Uhuru Kenyatta's trust in Raila Odinga, warning that it could be the beginning of his political demise.
Murkomen, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, made these remarks during an appearance on Citizen TV's Newsnight segment.
He described Raila as a master of broken promises, citing his history of failed initiatives and his current role as the poster child of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
According to Murkomen, Raila's true intentions are suspect, as he continues to threaten people while pretending to be a savior of the people.
Murkomen also revealed that President Uhuru had personally told him that the handshake between Raila and himself did not signify trust, but rather a step towards building trust.
Furthermore, Murkomen expressed dismay at Raila's constant calls for constitutional change, which he believes are at odds with the Big 4 Agenda that the handshake was meant to support.
