On October 30, 2019, Sarah Wairimu Cohen's lawyer, Philip Murgor, appeared in court to request the release of her car and personal belongings, which were seized after her arrest in connection with her husband Tob Cohen's murder.

According to Murgor, Sarah Wairimu Cohen has been relying on relatives and friends for clothing and transportation, as she does not have access to her car.

State counsel Catherine Mwaniki opposed the request, stating that the house where the murder took place is a crime scene and Sarah Wairimu Cohen cannot be allowed to enter it.

Mwaniki also argued that the vehicle is an exhibit because it was used by the deceased, and therefore cannot be released.

Justice Stella Mutuku directed Murgor to file a formal application listing the items he needs, and the case will be mentioned on November 5, 2019, when the court will make a ruling on other issues raised by the parties.
