On Tuesday night, Hussein Mohamed wrapped up his 10-year tenure as a host on Citizen TV with his final show.

During his time at the Royal Media Services-owned station, Hussein Mohamed anchored the popular Newsnight show every Tuesday, preceding it with the Big Question news segment.

His final show featured a debate between Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and National Assembly Minority Leader John Mbadi, focusing on the Building Bridges Initiative report expected to address nine key issues in the country, including ethnic antagonism, lack of national ethos, and corruption.

Earlier this month, Hussein Mohamed announced his departure from Citizen TV, stating that he would take a break after October to focus on other matters.

“I have decided to take a break after October In Sha Allah to concentrate on other matters. Loved the fans, the critics and everything in between. See you soon,” he said.

Throughout his career, Hussein Mohamed has been known for his hard-hitting interviews, having hosted top leaders such as President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy William Ruto, and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

He has also interviewed notable figures, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in 2016, marking the first visit by an Israeli leader to Africa in 50 years.

Hussein Mohammed began his career at Royal Media Services as a political reporter and rose through the ranks, earning recognition as a no-nonsense, objective, and candid journalist.
